Chatham Central District Arts Extravaganza - Standing Room Only
The weather threatened throughout the day but the show went on! On Friday, October 14, the Chatham Central District held the first feeder-district Arts Extravaganza in conjunction with Touchdowns for Ta-Ta’s and the Bear Claw Catering department fundraiser for cancer research. All schools from the district were represented with art works and performances.
Throughout the evening there were presentations from the Chatham Central High School Band, the J.S. Waters Chorus, J.S. Waters & Bennett Combined Bands, CCHS Chorus, and several duos and a soloist.
Louis Brady, a local artist, worked under the cover of an umbrella to paint a portrait of Chatham Central High School which will be available later in the semester for fundraising.
Over 200 students participated in the event and the community turned out in droves to support the arts.
Chatham County Schools would like to thank all who attended and participated in this tremendous experience for the students of Chatham County Schools.
